Our Views on Citations

At FutureWolfTech, we believe that citing sources is of the utmost importance. Citing sources adds to the legitimacy and credibility of our authors. We also believe in giving credit where credit is due along with many other influential, meaningless quotes. Aside from plagiarism, we at Wolftech believe in living by a strict code of ethics that frowns on any uncited use of another persons work. Another way citations are useful is that they “provide a trail by which others can locate the materials you consulted” in case questions arise about a given topic.

In our opinion, the citation style of linking to sources within the article itself works a lot better in an online blog setting than the traditional MLA style parenthetical citations used in formal essays or papers. In an online blog, people would be more willing to click the link and quickly check the source, rather than go out of their way to find the citation link, copy it, plug it into a search engine, and browse through the results. Information moves quicker over the internet, and linking sources in the article is a very quick way to present information.
